Ein Bisschen Deutschland!

While in Tokyo last week, I gave two talks at Keio University, the most prestigious university of Japan.  On my free Sunday, I traveled to Kamakura, a small town close to the sea.  It used to be the capital of Japan in the Edo period.  Now, it is a beautiful and quite port town with great hiking trails and lots of nature.  It is still quite international, even with two German backeries!

Toen ik vorige week in Tokyo was, heb ik twee lezingen gegeven in Keio University, de meest prestigieuze universiteit van Japan.  Tijdens mijn vrije zondag, ben ik naar Kamakura gereisd, een klein dorpje dicht bij de zee.  Tijdens de Edo periode was dit de hoofdstad van Japan.  Nu is het een prachtig havenstadje met veel wandelroutes en natuur.  Het is nog steeds redelijk internationaal, met twee Duitse bakkerijen.
